Turkey meet Malaysia - the cool way

17 December 2010 - Turkuaz organized free authentic Turkish ice cream @ our outlet in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in conjunction with Awal Muharam as well as to thank our customers for their continuous support.

It created quite a stir along the road as many found these turkish guys quite a sight to behold especially when one of them with very big body build wore traditional turkish costume.

We actually wanted to give away the ice creams in one stretch starting at 1pm but had to make do with 3 different time (1pm, 3pm & 6pm) as these ice cream were hand served. Serving it in one stretch would be too tiring for the ice cream man, Mr Aslan.

Apparently you need to "fry" the ice cream in the freezer cos the ice cream will be firmer and tastes better after this process.

Mr Aslan was also a great sport as he played some tricks on the guests especially the children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his tricks. Which explained why some came and queue for all 3 sessions of the free ice cream. Guess the cool rainy weather did nothing to dampen their appetite for cold and fresh turkish ice cream.

Our founder Mr Gurcan Selekoglu also tried his hand in serving the ice cream.

The local newspaper Sinar Harian was also on hand to cover the event and this is the write up of the event.

We definitely hope to do more event such as this to promote Turkish culture and food to Malaysians. This is our way of thanking Malaysia for accepting Turkuaz and making it a household name among the muslimahs.
