So there are lots and lots of fashion ideas for the coming Ramadhan and inside you can find Turkuaz / Gulyn fashion. All the designs are suitable for raya as well as to work but the designs in the first 2 pages have a more festive feel.

At Turkuaz we hope to give customers more choices be it scarves or clothings. There are also lots of new designs for prayer rugs ('sejadah') and prayer robes ('telekung').

New Jubah Gaun - Summer Dreams

Latest Jubah Gaun at Turkuaz / Gulyn is Summer Dreams code 330-1035 in 5 colours.

Turkuaz Fashion Spread - Mingguan Wanita Sept 2010

This is the latest Turkuaz / Gulyn 4 pages fashion spread in Mingguan Wanita September 2010 Edisi Khas Aidilfitri.

This year Mingguan Wanita's bumper edition is really value for money with 240pages (RM10.90) with our prime minister and family on the front cover.

As for the fashion spread it was shot on location at KTM station in Kuala Lumpur giving it a very appropriate "balik kampung" feel together with luggage in tow.

We sincerely hope that customers can wear our designs to balik kampung this year and after Raya wear our designs to work.

New Pantsuit Design - Ruana II

Ruana II is repeat of our previous design but now sewn with different fabric as the design was really popular with our customers.

This time the fabric is also very comfortable and you have to see for yourself the material and fabrication is very unique. The buttons are also very well matched to enhance the overall appeal of the design.

Sizes are from S - XXL (code 330-1034) and comes with matching pants. Price is RM439.90 but member or online purchase can enjoy special price of RM380/set.

Fasting and breaking fast @ Turkuaz

It's amazing how time flies. As of today all muslims would have been fasting for 10 days. With another 20 days to go, that's one third of the way done.

At Turkuaz the fasting month is especially trying for all the staffs as this happens to be our annual extremely peak season so we really appreciate all the staffs for having the dedication to serve customers with patience and with a smile.

The staffs are constantly on their feet and have to talk and promote the items to the customers, explain membership, member privileges and etc even though they had not had a drop of water in their mouth since morning.

They also have to put in extra working hours since we closed the shop 2 hours later than the usual time and they do not have any off days during the last 14days before raya. Also during the last 14days before raya all the staffs in the KL outlet work an extra 5 - 6 hours per night as we close shop at around 1-2am as there are still crowd in the Masjid India and Jln Tuanku Abdul Rahman bazaar ramadhan just behind us.

Hence all staffs really need to keep themselves in good health and the company always have medicine in stock like panadol, flu, cough and gastric medication but then again it's fasting month so many will bear with the pain until it's time to break fast.

Captured below is the daily breaking fast scene in Turkuaz at Jln TAR outlet when all the staffs sit around on 3 plastic "tikar". The company provides food for them on every weekends during the whole fasting month and daily during the last 14days. It's really a good time to build relationships and enjoy the camaraderie of sharing the happenings of the day and among their families.

New Pantsuit Design - Beautiful Collection

Beautiful Collection - that's the name we gave to the latest pantsuits in Turkuaz / Gulyn cos frankly speaking one look and you have to agree that the design of the fabric is really modern but at the same time edgy...

The yellow one is kind of Burberry. As for the blue one the print is really distinct and note the extra buttons near the collar giving it a very edgy english look.

Talent... must you been born with you for it to count?

Was really intrigued by a dialogue in a japanese drama which I watched recently. From it I realised that there is a statement which is oh so so true. The statement is "If you are 5 year old and you can play the piano well - you are considered a genius but the same cannot be said when you are 20 year old". I guessed it meant you cannot fall into the category of a child prodigy anymore.

How great is it to burst out into the world with all your talents and gifts when you are young and talented - like Messi in the recent world cup, Jaden Smith but if you are old, then you are expected to retreat into the shadows and not be seen nor heard till you are no more.

The world even laughs at Susan Boyle when she took the stage. She was too old to have any talent... so they think.

It may be that we already have this talent within us but amazingly dont give much thought to it. We always think that our talents are never good enough. So we never take the time and effort to improve it.

Well I hope before the end of 2010 you will find the resolute within you to improve on your talent and never let age be a factor to stop you from discovering yourself.

If you think that you do not have any talent, then why not learn a new one. One is never too old and time is never right nor wrong to expand your horizons. It could be piano, typing, dancing, setting up a online shop or even a new language as language has always been the most effective bridge in getting to know people from another part of the world.

Everyone should find something to learn from this world as there is always something new to be learned every day and hopefully one day you would have mastered it to such an extent that it can be appreciated by others as well ;D

New form of Turkish Ice Cream

The latest kind of ice cream to hit Kuala Lumpur scene is from Mado a turkish company.

Their tagline is "the first ice cream eaten with the use fork and knife" and it's really true, as you really need to use utensils to eat this as hard as rock ice cream. Made from goat's milk this ice cream is really different in terms of taste and texture.

Personally I prefered the flavoured ones as I am not a big fan of goat's milk. The pistachios flavour is good but Mado's ice cream since made with natural flavour and milk can be really filling if you have a small stomach.

All in all it was a good experience as Mado's also sells turkish delight which was suffice to say a delight to savour. You can find Mado's ice cream in Pavilion KL.

New Jubah Kain - Chiffon Paradise

Chiffon Paradise the latest jubah with matching chiffon skirt at Turkuaz & Gulyn. Since the material is soft and thin, it's fully lined with plain chiffon to add weight and not to be too transparent.

It comes in 3 attractive colours of green, blue and purple and comes in S - XXL.
