Knorr Instant Macaroni

From my trip to Hong Kong, I realized that Hongkies when eating noodle would have their noodles in 2 options:-

1) instant noodle (ramen) or
2) macaroni (which the locals called "toong sum fun" which literally means hollow center noodle)

So I bought myself 6 packets of instant Knorr Macaroni from a supermarket. You would have known by now that whenever I travel, I must go to the local supermarket to buy their sauce, biscuit etc. Inexpensive way to buy souvenirs ;p

After adding the soup base

Both me and my husband tried it and after eating it, I guess macaroni is an acquired taste meaning Malaysians wills stick to their maggi for a long long time cos cooking time for macaroni is longer and the taste is quite bland especially if you have to finish a bowlful of them. I had to add a tin of corn to add some crunch and variety the 2nd time I cook it.

Which also explains why a check on Knorr's website which is under Unilever reveal that the only Knorr products which we have in Malaysia are their seasoning powder, paste, sauce and soup. No food.. Only seasoning.

So it's everyone guess when macaroni will be staple food for Malaysian but for me personally, it's definitely not something which I will crave for.

Turkuaz Fashion Spread in NUR Magazine May 2013

"Selamat Hari Ibu dan Hari Pekerja" - this is the latest theme for NUR magazine, May 2013 edition (RM5.90 each).

Inside are also 4 pages of Turkuaz fashion spread from page 50 to 54.

The Cover Girls are Sharifah Aleya dan Arni Nazira, both mothers who shared on their motherhood experience.

2 articles that caught my attention are:-
pages 106 - 107 on how to delegate house work and pages 128 -131 a travelogue on Marrakesh. A continuation of this article on the writer's experience in Casablanca and Rabat will be featured in the next edition of Nur.

Majolica Marjorca Lash Jelly Drop

Bought this product from Guardian, Malaysia on 4 February 2013. Majolica Majorca Lash Jelly Drop for about RM42.

Used it religiously everyday (day and night after washing my face) for more than 2 months, 69 days to be exact.

Can you see any improvement?

Not much difference right? Well personally I feel that there is slight improvement but a bit short of my expectation.

Reason is my lower eyelid lashes are still "barren".. so sad but the saleslady who recommended this product said that prior to using this, she had the same "barren" condition but she's having FULL lower eyelid lashes.

Well, guess I have to persist or perhaps my method of applying the gel is wrong??

VERDICT is I will keep using it and keep my fingers crossed that it somehow trigger the lashes to grow thicker someday ;p

Best time to renew your international passport

All these while, I was under the misconception that it is ok to renew your Malaysian passport any time before the expiry date as the new expiry date would run 5 years from my current expiry date.

I was WRONG!

My cousin who renewed hers recently was shortchanged 2 months!!

Note expiry on 1 Dec 2013

Note new expiry on 17 October 2018 and not 1 Dec 2018

When she renewed on 17 April 2013, meaning another 8 months before expiry on December 2013, she was given a new expiry of 17 October 2018.. extension of only 5 years 6 months.

How did it happened??

A check with the immigration department website reveals that:-

"Jika pemohon ingin memohon Pasport baru menggantikan Pasport yang belum tamat tempoh sahlakunya , baki tempoh (had maksima 6 bulan sahaja) yang ada dalam Pasport lama akan dimasukkan ke dalam Pasport baru dengan syarat-syarat berikut:

a. Bukan kes hilang atau rosak

b. Bukan kes dalam siasatan

c. Bukan permohonan gantian pasport untuk tempoh sahlaku dua(2) tahun"

So what does this mean?
DO NOT renew your passport until you have less than 6 months before your expiry date!

You will end up giving money earlier to the government and being punished for doing so. What a stupid system!
